近年ではスマートフォンやSNSの発展を筆頭に、10年前では考えられなかった仮想世界でのコミュニケーションが当たり前の世の中になりました。その過程で新しく生まれたものや、人知れず失われていったものは良くも悪くも数多く存在します。便利なものが次々と現れている世の中で、手間のかかるものや不便とされるものや過程は淘汰されていきます。
In recent years, with the development of smartphones and SNS, communication in virtual worlds, which was unthinkable ten years ago, has become commonplace. There are many new things that were born in the process, and many things that were lost in secret, for better or worse. In a world where convenient things are appearing one after another, things and processes that are troublesome or inconvenient are being weeded out.
私たちは一つのコレクションを作るのに半年の時間を費やします。特に拘りもなく、ハリボテのような表面的な美しさを作るならばそれらを数日で作り上げることも可能でしょう。実際にそういった衣服の需要があることも事実です。ですが、私たちはそこに真の美しさは宿らないと思っています。目に見えるデザインや実用性などを踏まえつつ、ディスプレイには表示することのできない目に見えない個々の思い入れこそもう一つの服の価値であり、失ってはいけないものであると感じます。
We spend six months creating a collection. I don't have a particular preference, and if I want to create a superficial beauty like a haribote, it will be possible to create them in a few days. It is also true that there is actually a demand for such clothes. However, we believe that true beauty does not reside there. While taking into consideration the visible design and practicality, I feel that the invisible individual feelings that cannot be displayed on the display are another value of clothes, and it is something that should not be lost.
これからの未来ではさらに技術が発展を重ね、10年後の未来では無くなっているものも沢山出てくるでしょう。ディスプレイに表示された情報やものだけではなく、自分だけの本当の身体やそこに宿る真実の心、それらを忘れないで欲しい。そして上辺の情報に惑わされず、審美眼を持って物事に向き合うことを忘れないで欲しい。これからの未来に訪れるであろうヴァーチャル世界にちょっとだけアンチテーゼを込めた、ヴァーチャル世界からインスパイアを受けた現実世界に存在するコレクションを作りました。
In the future, technology will continue to develop, and in 10 years from now, there will be many things that will no longer exist. Don't forget the information and things displayed on the display, but also your own true body and true mind that resides there. And don't forget to face things with an aesthetic eye, without being misled by superficial information. We have created a collection that exists in the real world inspired by the virtual world, with a little bit of antithesis to the virtual world that will come in the future.
AW22-23でまず初めにデザインを始めたのはグラフィック。ペン一本だけでシンプルなモチーフを繰り返すことで作品を仕上げるゼンタングルという技法を使って、仮想世界の情報の不確定さやその情報量の多さ、混沌とした世界を表現しました。1本ずつフリーハンドで線を描いていく作業を約3日間ほど。その間は外部からの情報を一切遮断して、ただひたすらに描き続けました。ただ夢中に。グラフィックソフトを使用すれば簡単に描くことができますが、あえて手書きの線の歪みや、インクの擦れを残すことで人が描いたものであるという証を。
The first thing I started designing with the AW22-23 was the graphics. Using a technique called Zentangle, which completes works by repeating simple motifs with just a pen, I expressed the uncertainty of information in the virtual world, the large amount of information, and the chaotic world. The work of drawing lines freehand one by one for about 3 days. During that time, I blocked out all outside information and just kept drawing. just obsessed. It's easy to draw using graphics software, but by leaving distorted handwritten lines and smudges of ink, it proves that it was drawn by a human.
現実の世界には存在しない架空の植物を。グラフィックで人工的に作られた植物は枯れることはありません。それらが仮に視覚的に生と死を繰り返していたとしても、それらは形骸化という表現が正しいでしょう。現実の世界にある衣服も時が経てば、いずれ糸や布は傷み永久に着用できるものは1着も存在しません。ですが、植物を愛でるように、それぞれの思い入れを持って大切に扱うことでその寿命は遥かに長く伸ばすことができます。
Imaginary plants that do not exist in the real world. Graphically drawn and man-made plants never die. Even if they visually repeat life and death, it would be correct to describe them as mere mere appearances. As time goes by, the threads and fabrics of clothes in the real world will eventually wear out, and there is no one that can be worn forever. However, you can extend the lifespan of clothes much longer if you treat them with care, just like you love plants.
